My name is Yassir Arjouni. I am a former qualified high school teacher who was able to secure a permanent position with the Moroccan ministry of education at the age of twenty-two. My journey towards English language teaching started with my enrolment as an English major at UMP university, where I got the very best grade in the first semester and was one of the highest achievers in the following semesters as well. My hunger for learning and striving towards greater intellectual achievement never withered at the sight of my Bachelor’s degree in English literature with a top grade – I wanted more. I applied for a competitive master program of applied linguistics (only twenty out of the tens of graduates who applied would end up on the program’s list of successful candidates) – I was ranked third on the list by order of merit. By the end of the first year of the master program, I, among other hundreds of graduates, had already submitted my application for the ministry of education’s annual job positions. After two days of written exams (sixteen hours in total) and another forty minutes for the subsequent oral exam, I was successfully admitted to the ministry’s teacher training centre in Fez, Morocco. I was able to finish both the second year of the master program and my teacher training at once; hitting two birds with the same stone in one year. This was the result of enormous effort, dedication, and careful planning on my part – the very reason why you should hire me as soon as you finish reading this: I enjoy tremendous levels of energy, desire, and commitment that will definitely offer your school a boost to the top.
